BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. Stater (Silver, 28 mm, 8.00 g). ϘΡΟ Tripod with legs ending in lion's feet, and with three handles and snakes rising from the bowl; around, cable border. Rev. Same type as the obverse, but incuse and without the legend; around, rayed border. Attianese 5. Gorini 3. HN Italy 2075. SNG ANS 230. Beautifully toned and well struck. Light scratches and with very minor areas of horn silver, otherwise, good very fine.


From the Robert P. Ball Collection, ex Spink USA 382, 15 January 2023, 475, privately acquired from Bank Leu in 1969.
