CAMPANIA. Neapolis. 350-325 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 18 mm, 7.59 g, 3 h). Head of a nymph to right, wearing broad headband, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; to left, uncertain letter (?). Rev. [NEOΠOΛITΩN] Man-headed bull walking right; above, Nike flying right to crown the bull; below, Ω (?). HN Italy 565. SNG ANS 302 var. (differing letter on reverse). SNG München 223 (differing letter on reverse). A lovely coin, beautifully toned and of splendid late classical style and with a particularly attractive man-headed bull. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
