LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.50 g, 12 h), imitating Alexander III and Philip III of Macedon. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Celticized Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, Ζ; to right and below, imitative legend. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz 906. OTA 581/3 var. (two monograms). Struck from somewhat worn dies and slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
