Gaius (Caligula). AD 37-41. Æ Sestertius (35.5mm, 29.50 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 37-38. Pietas seated left, holding patera and resting arm on small draped figure standing facing on basis / Gaius (Caligula) standing left, holding patera over altar; on either side, victimarius, holding bull for sacrifice, and attendant, holding patera; hexastyle, garlanded temple of Divus Augustus in background. RIC I 36. Dark green-brown patina, lighter high points, smoothed and tooled. VF.
