MYSIA, Pergamum(?). L. Sempronius Atratinus(?). Quaestor, circa 42-39 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 12.18 g, 11h). Cistophoric type. Cista mystica with serpent; all within ivy wreath / Two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; above, ATPA monogram; Q to left, serpent-entwined staff to right. Stumpf 3; Kleiner, Hoard –; SNG BN 1766-8 (Pergamon); Metcalf, "A Note on the Later Republican Cistophori," SNR 88 (2009), pp. 205-8, pl. 15. Toned, slight porosity, areas of weak strike. Near VF.
