Hadrian. Sestertius; Hadrian; 117-138 AD, Rome, 128-9 AD, Sestertius, 24.23g. RIC-989 (R), pl. 96. Obv: HADRIANVS - AVGVSTVS P P Bust laureate, draped, cuirassed r. Rx: HIL - ARI - [T]AS P R on l. and r., COS III in exergue, S - C across lower field, Hilaritas standing l. holding long palm and cornucopia, a naked boy on l. grasps the palm stem, a draped girl on r. reaches towards Hilaritas' drapery. Ex Curtis L. Clay Collection. Scarce with this bust type, which seems to be "draped and cuirassed", though RIC describes it as merely "draped".. Bold Fine
