S-1248. Obverse: Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; Reverse: Justinian standing facing, holding akakia and cross potent on steps; I//CONOP. Despite some scattered weakness and off-centering of strike, this barely handled survivor stands as an excellent representative of the first coinage to bear the portrait of Christ--that being the coinage of Justinian II's first reign.
