| Lot description: SKYTHIA. Geto-Dacians. Koson, mid 1st century B.C. AV Stater (8.60 gms). NGC MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. HGC-3.2, 2049; RPC-1, 1701A. Obverse: Roman consul accompanied by two lictors advancing left; monogram to left; Reverse: Eagle, holding wreath, standing left on scepter. Struck slightly off-center on a somewhat compact flan, this example nevertheless remains an enchanting Mint State survivor. Estimate: $800 - $1200 |  |
