Obverse: Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right, wearing crested helmet covered with pelt of scales and adorned with head of Gorgon and wing; all within bead-and-reel border; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding Nike and scepter; M to inner left. Despite the noted smoothing, this example still offers solid detail and stands as a pleasing representative of a SCARCE type. Estimate: $750 - $1500 |  |
