| Lot description: L. Plautius Plancus. Silver Denarius (3.86 g), 47 BC Rome. L PLAVTIVS below, Mask of Medusa with disheveled hair facing, coiled serpent at either side of face. Reverse: PLANCVS below, Aurora flying right, head slightly left, holding reins and conducting the four horses of the sun.
