IULIA MAMAEA, mother of Severus Alexander, died AD 235. Denarius, about 231. AR 3.13 g. IVLIA MA - MAEA AVG Draped, diademed bust r. Rev. VENVS V - I-CTRIX Venus, wearing long dress and cloak, standing l., holding long sceptre with her l. hand, helmet on her outstretched r. hand; at her side, shield. BMC 185, 713; C. 76; RIC 99, 358.
