EGYPT. Antinoopolis. Antinous, favourite of Hadrian. Circa 2nd century. Tessera (Lead, 21.50 mm, 4.77 g). Antinous (as Hermes) wearing hem-hem crown on horseback to right, holding caduceus. Rev. Personification of Nilus reclining left, holding reed in the right hand and cornucopia in the left hand, being crowned by Euthenia standing in front of him with laurel wreath; crocodile below to right. Dattari (Savio) 6463 & 6473 var (Nilus seated to right) and 11706 var. Very Fine.
