| Lot description: Ancients SICILY. Syracuse. Agathocles (317-289 BC). AR tetradrachm (26mm, 17.16 gm, 5h). NGC AU 4/5 - 3/5, Fine Style, brushed. Pre-royal coinage, ca. 310-305 BC. Head of Persephone left, wreathed with grain ears, wearing triple-pendant earring and beaded necklace; three dolphins around, NI below neck truncation / ΣYPAKOΣIΩN, charioteer driving racing quadriga left, reins in left hand, kentron in right; triskeles counterclockwise above, AN monogram in exergue. SNG ANS 632-635. SNG Copenhagen 753-754 var. (NK on obverse).
