| Lot description: Ancients EASTERN EUROPE. Uncertain Celtic Tribe. Ca. 3rd-2nd centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (24mm, 14.40 gm, 12h). NGC AU 5/5 - 2/5, test cut. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Laureate head of Zeus right / ΦΙΛΙΠ-ΠΟΥ, nude youth astride prancing horse right, palm branch in right hand, reins in left; vertical branch below horse, Π below raised foreleg. Cf. La Tour 9708 var. (torch under horse). Hints of red, violet, and blue toning on slate surfaces.
