His laureate head right; L ς (date) before / Messalina, veiled, standing left, leaning on column, holding two children and grain ears; lituus to left; MEΣΣAΛINA KAIΣ ΣEBAΣ. RPC I 5165. Dattari (Savio) 130. K&G 12.55. Emmett 74.6. Very Fine; silver with brown patination and scattered deposits. Striking portrait. Very rare final year of issue with lituus.
