Vespasian. AD 69-79. Æ Sestertius (35mm, 24.87 g, 6h). "Judaea Capta" commemorative. Rome mint. Struck AD 71. IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M TR P P P COS III, laureate head right / IVDAEA CAPTA, S C in exergue, palm tree; to left, male captive standing right with his hands tied behind his back; to right, Judaea seated right on cuirass, in attitude of mourning; two spears, a hexagonal and a couple of round shields to left; round shields and spear to right. RIC II.1 159; Hendin 6530; BMCRE 533; BN 489-90 var. (configuration of arms). Brown patina, minor pitting, a few scratches, edge marks. Good Fine.
