BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Philoxenos Aniketos. Circa 125-110 BC. AR Drachm (14x14mm, 2.26 g, 12h). Square module. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANIKHTOY ΦIΛOΞENOY, diademed heroic bust to left, seen from behind, wearing aegis over shoulder, brandishing spear / maharajasa apadihatasa philasinasa in Kharosthi, Philoxenos in military attire right on rearing horse; monogram to lower right. Bopearachchi 8A = MIG Type 342a = HGC 12, 273 illustration = BM Inv. 1956,0710.33 (same dies); Bopearachchi & Rahman –; SNG ANS –. Toned with hint of iridescence, some marks. VF. Extremely rare.
