Pontus, Amasia, Severus Alexander, (A.D. 222-235), AE 37, issued A.D. 205-6, (29.02 g), obv. laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, around AYT K CEOYHROC ALEXANDROC, rev. altar of Zeus Stratius surmounted by eagle, with wings spread and head left, above, Sol driving facing quadriga, holding whip and raising hand, tree to left, around ADP CEY ALEX AMACIAC MHTR NE PR P ET CKH across fields, (S.3275, BMC 40, Dalaison 576). Toned, traces of original silvering, good very fine - nearly extremely fine and a scarce type.
