Boiotia, Tanagra, (479-475 B.C.), silver drachm (6.20 g), obv. Boiotian shield wth horizontal T facing inwards in one opening, rev. incuse square with Maltese cross pattern, in relief T in two opposing incuse sections, (S.1808, BCD 250 [Triton IX same dies], Head 'Boeotia' p.16, BMC 6, SNG Cop.217). Toned, nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Boiotian shield wth horizontal T facing inwards in one opening (noted by Knobloch), rev. incuse square with clockwise mill-sail pattern, in relief T in two opposing incuse sections, (S.1806, cf.BCD 243 and 248, [Triton IX lot 243 drachm, 248 hemidrachm], Head 'Boeotia' p.12 cf.Pl.1.3], cf.BMC 4, cf.SNG Cop.215, HGC 4, 1284 [R2]). Toned, nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex BCD Collection purchased from CNG, 20 January 2007 privately, from CNG Sale 72, 14 June 2006 (lot 591), previously from the Henry Umans Collection who acquired it from Knobloch, Fixed Price List 23 for Fall 1963 No.234.

Boiotian shield, rev. forepart of horse springing to right, its neck bound with laurel wreath, in field to left T and to right A, (S.2450, BCD 265 [Triton IX same dies and dates early-mid 4th century], Head 'Boeotia' p.52, BMC 29). Toned, good very fine/very fine and very rare.

Boiotian shield, rev. amphora in incuse concave field, across field to left AP and to right OL, grapes on branch above, (cf.S.2398, BCD 565 [Triton IX p.105 [same dies] suggests 363-338 B.C.], Head 'Boeotia' p.65, Hepworth D3 No.11 on list, BMC 115-6, SNG Cop.317 [same reverse die]). Lightly toned, slightly off centred on obverse, nearly extremely fine and rare.
