Ancients
INDIA. Kushan Empire. Huvishka (ca. AD 151-190). AV quarter-dinar (13mm, 1.98 gm, 12h). XF. Gandhara, subsidiary mint (probably Peshawar), early phase. Blundered Bactrian legend, half-length bust of Huvishka left on mountain top, with heavy sideburns, wearing round helmet with twin-pronged forehead ornament, crest ornament, crescent on the side, diadem with tie and long ribbons to right, loose-fitting tunic with segmented collar and armlets, flames emanating from right shoulder, club in right hand surmounted by three spikes, sword hilt in left / MIOPO, Mioro standing facing, leaning back, head left and looking upward with double radiate halo, wearing jeweled diadem with tie and single ribbon to right, knee-length cloak around shoulders clasped at chest over belted tunic and boots, right hand raised in benediction, left hand on hip and clasping hilt of sword held by belt and cradling filleted scepter with knob finial with left arm; tamgha with crossbar to left, dotted border.
