| Lot description: Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.33 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Arelate, irregular mint, after 325. EL IVL CONSTANTIVS NO C Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to right. Rev. VIRTV-S AVGG / PARL Campgate with no doors and two turrets; above, star. Cf. RIC 291 and 294 (for possible prototype). Somewhat rough, otherwise, good very fine. From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969. The crude style and retrograde obverse legend show that this is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation.
