| Lot description: Helena, Augusta, 324-328/30. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 3.08 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, irregular mint, after 324. FL AEL-ENA AVGG Diademed and draped bust of Helena to right. Rev. SECVRITAS REI PVBLICE / PTR Securitas standing front, head to left, holding branch in her right hand. Cf. RIC 458 (for prototype). A highly unusual and attractive piece with an incredibly impressive unofficial portrait. Slightly rough and with minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine. From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969. The style of this coin is clearly unofficial, indicating that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation.
