| Lot description: Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. Dupondius (Bronze, 30 mm, 20.39 g, 9 h), Lugdunum (as Copia), circa 36 BC. IMP CAESAR DIVI F DIVI IVLI Laureate head of Divus Julius Caesar, on the left, and bare head of Octavian, on the right; between them, palm frond. Rev. COPIA Prow decorated with dolphin to right; above, star on globe and meta. Giard 7. RPC I 515. SNG Copenhagen 689. An unusually attractive example of this usually poorly struck issue, perfectly centered and with two very attractive portraits.
