| Lot description: Lucius Axius L.f. Naso, 70 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.87 g, 5 h), Rome. XIIII - NASO - S•C Head of Mars to right, wearing crested helmet decorated with plumes. Rev. L•AXSIVS•L•F / VIII Diana, holding spear in her right hand and reins in her left, driving biga of stags to right; behind, two hunting dogs; another dog below the stags. Babelon (Axia) 1. Crawford 400/1b. RBW 1442 var. (differing control marks). Sydenham 794. Nicely toned and of really fine style. Porous and with a flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.
