| Lot description: SASANIAN KINGS. Bahram IV, 388-399. Drachm (Silver, 25 mm, 3.42 g, 3 h), Herat. Draped bust of Bahram IV to right, wearing winged mural crown with korymbos; incomplete legend around, 'mzdysn [bgy] wlhlʾn MLKAn [MLKA]', i.e. 'mazdēsn [bay] Wahrām šāhān [šāh]' ('The Mazda-worshipping Lord, Bahram, King of Kings' in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons flanked by two attendants; bust to right in flames; traces of 'hlydy', i.e. 'Harē(w)' ('Herat' in Pahlavi) on altar shaft. Göbl type I/1. SNS III/2, type Ia1/2a.
