| Lot description: KINGS OF CAPPADOCIA. temp. Ariarathes VIII – Ariobarzanes I, circa 100-80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.22 g, 12 h), in the names and types of the Seleukid King Antiochos VII, Ariaratheia or Eusebia-Tyana. Diademed head of Antiochos VII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟY - EYEPΓETOY Athena standing front, head to left, holding Nike in her right hand and resting her left on shield decorated with gorgoneion and set on ground; spear leaning against her left arm; to outer left, monogram above A; in inner field, T - A; all within laurel wreath.
