| Lot description: KINGS OF CAPPADOCIA. Ariarathes VI Epiphanes Philopator, circa 130-112/0 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.40 g, 12 h), in the names and types of the Seleukid King Antiochos VII. Uncertain mint in Cappadocia. Diademed head of Antiochos VII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟY - EYEPΓETOY Athena standing front, head to left, holding Nike in her right hand and resting her left on shield decorated with gorgoneion and set on ground; spear leaning against her left arm; to outer left, Δ above A; in inner right field, H (?); all within laurel wreath. SC -, cf. 2150.3-5 (differing controls). Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with minor traces of corrosion and areas of weakness , otherwise, very fine.
