Lot description: KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.21 g, 5 h), Lampsakos, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 306/5-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔP[OY] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, forepart of Pegasus flying left; below throne, monogram of NO. Price 1382. Some areas of weakness and with a flan crack, otherwise, good very fine. Ex Leu Web Auction 18, 19-21 December 2021, 369, and previously from a European collection, formed before 2005.
