| Lot description: MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 430-390 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.34 g, 1 h), light 'Thraco-Macedonian' standard. Lion right, attacking a bull kneeling left, head upraised; in exergue, ΑΛΕ. Rev. AKA-N-ΘIO-N Quadripartite square with granulated raised fields and surrounded by inscription; all within shallow incuse square. Desneux - (-/R131). HGC 3.1, 391. SNG ANS -.
