| Lot description: THRACE. Ainos. Circa 357-342/1 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 3.80 g, 12 h). Head of Hermes facing slightly to right, wearing petasos. Rev. AINION Archaic cult image of Hermes Perpheraios standing to left on throne, the left arm of which is supported by a tiny sphinx; to left, kantharos. AMNG II 367. BMC 23. HGC 3.2, 1280. May, Ainos, 436-40 (unlisted dies). Very rare and struck in high relief. Harshly cleaned and with light doubling and minor traces of corrosion on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
