THRACE. Abdera. Circa 386/5-375 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 16 mm, 2.81 g, 2 h), Philaios, magistrate. Griffin seated left; below wing, ABΔ. Rev. ΕΠI ΦΙΛΑIO Hermes standing right, wearing Petasos, holding short staff in his right hand and extending his left; to lower right, astragalos; all within shallow incuse square. HGC 3.2, 1222. May, Abdera, 426 (A294/P346). SNG Copenhagen 337. Nicely toned. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die and with a minor edge split, otherwise, about extremely fine.
