SICILY. Syracuse. Timoleon and the Third Democracy, 344-317 BC. Drachm (Silver, 13 mm, 2.63 g), Corinthian standard. Struck in the name of the Sikeliotes, circa 344-339/8. Female head (Arethousa?) to left, her hair bound with ribbon, wearing single pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. Pegasos flying left; below, ΣΙ. BCD Akarnania 414 ('uncertain Akarnania'). BMC (Corinth) p. 143, 13-4. Classical Numismatic Group E-Auction 493 (2021), 2. HGC 2, -. SNG ANS 1171 ('Sikeliotes'). Very rare. Porous, otherwise, very fine.
