| Lot description: SICILY. Syracuse. Dionysios I, 405-367 BC. Drachm (Bronze, 29 mm, 29.00 g, 9 h). ΣYPA Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet; on helmet, countermark: Σ-Y-P-A within wheel of eight spokes, all within circular incuse. Rev. Sea-star between two dolphins; on left dolphin, countermarks: scallop shell within square incuse. Cf. CNS II, 62 (no countermarks) and SNG ANS 454-69 (no countermarks).
