BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 425-350 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.36 g, 7 h). Eagle with closed wings standing right, head to left; to right, animal skull. Rev. ϘPO Tripod with three handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws; to right, olive leaf. HN Italy 2147. Jameson 425 (this coin). SNG ANS 340 (same dies). Nicely toned and with an excellent old pedigree. Some traces of cleaning and minor smoothing, otherwise, very fine.

Overstruck on a Corinthian type stater, otherwise, good very fine.
