KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.32 g, 12 h), Miletos, struck under Philoxenos, circa 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, thunderbolt; below throne, monogram of ΔΗ. Price 2088. Well centered, and with the head of Herakles sharply struck in high relief. The reverse somewhat weak, otherwise, virtually as struck.
