Mn. Aquillius Mn.f. Mn.n. 65 BC. AR Serrate Denarius (19.5mm, 4.00 g, 5h). Rome mint. Helmeted and draped bust of Virtus right / Mn. Aquillius standing right, holding shield and raising up kneeling figure of Sicily to left. Crawford 401/1; Sydenham 798; Aquillia 2; RBW 1443. Lustrous, slightly off center. EF.

This moneyer was already a Senator in 74 BC (Cicero, Cluent. 127) but is otherwise unknown. This reverse type alludes to the beneficia conferred on Sicily by his grandfather, Mn. Aquillius, consul in 101 BC, responsible for ending the slave war.
