| Lot description: Mn. Aquillius Mn.f. Mn.n. 65 BC. AR Serrate Denarius (19.5mm, 4.00 g, 5h). Rome mint. Helmeted and draped bust of Virtus right / Mn. Aquillius standing right, holding shield and raising up kneeling figure of Sicily to left. Crawford 401/1; Sydenham 798; Aquillia 2; RBW 1443. Lustrous, slightly off center. EF. This moneyer was already a Senator in 74 BC (Cicero, Cluent. 127) but is otherwise unknown. This reverse type alludes to the beneficia conferred on Sicily by his grandfather, Mn.
