Lot description: PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphos. 285-246 BC. Æ Hemiobol (17mm, 3.82 g, 12h). Alexandreia mint. Series 3, circa late 260s–246 BC. Head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin headdress / Eagle with spread wings, standing left on thunderbolt; E between legs. CPE B227a; Svoronos 451; SNG Copenhagen –. Dark brown surfaces, a few spots of encrustation, a little roughness on obverse. Good VF. Well struck for a small Ptolemaic bronze with the full design present. Rare thus. From the DMS Collection.
