Good Very Fine. Apparently unique and unpublished, of historical interest.

From the Roman Provincial Images Collection.

The Leu Numismatik example struck with a portrait of Julia Domna was dated to AD 197/8 due to an obverse die match to dated issues (SNG BnF 2659-2660). This date corresponds to the year that Caracalla was promoted to Augustus and Geta to Caesar. This was also the year in which Septimius Severus celebrated a triumph in honour of his victory against the Parthian Empire. It is therefore unsurprising that military attire is worn by Caracalla on the obverse and reverse and by Septimius Severus. Geta is shown wearing the toga virilis, representing his coming of age but separating him from the co-emperors.
